A very special experience for us was the trip to a stilt house village in the middle of the sea, built on an submarine atoll. We stayed there 3 nights, had very nice snorkelings, island visit (next island 30 minutes boat ride away), music session with the inhabitants, special banggai raw fish salat (very delicious) and always very fresh fish of course. Sharing the room with family members of Papa Sarah we slept on the hard bamboo floor, got live „good night“ music after sunset and waked up with the first daily life sounds of the neighbours before daylight. The boat ride to Mandeboolu is long, 3-4 hours, with some stops on island in between to visit family members of Papa Sarah. Please understand: this family connection makes it easy to come close to people and their very spacial and unique lifestyle, you normaly never would meet.
